Mountain Boy Elegant Flyer: Sometimes the perfect gift is something extraordinary -- beautiful, unique, playful. The Elegant Flyer is just that, a sled built like a piece of fine furniture that trumps everything else on the sledding hill. Each is made of fine figured woods right here in our Silverton workshop, and every sled is signed and numbered by the sledmaker. The design follows that of the Ultimate Flyer, with patent-pending steering and durable black plastic skids on the bottom. We use a wide variety of woods, from flame birch (shown at right and below) to cherry, walnut, maple, and many others. The Elegant Flyer meets all ASTM and USC child safety criteria.
